As family wealth becomes increasingly global, diversified and multigenerational, family offices are under growing pressure to improve how they consolidate financial information, monitor investments and manage risk. Traditional reporting systems and fragmented spreadsheets are gradually giving way to integrated wealth-technology platforms capable of handling multiple entities, currencies, asset classes and jurisdictions.

Asset Vantage is positioning itself at the centre of this transformation. Built by a family office to address its own operational complexities, the company has evolved into an AI-led wealthtech software-as-a-service platform supporting more than 400 families across over 10 countries. According to the company, its platform helps oversee more than USD 400 billion in assets.

In this exclusive conversation with Dr. Faiz Askari, Founder and Editor of SMEStreet, Ms. Nicole Eberhardt, Global Chief Executive Officer of Asset Vantage, discusses the company’s distinctive origins, its global growth strategy and the increasing importance of artificial intelligence in family-office operations.

She also explains why trusted financial data must remain the foundation of AI-led decision-making, the strategic significance of India’s expanding family-office ecosystem and Asset Vantage’s ambition to become a comprehensive financial operating system for families and their advisors.

The Exclusive Conversation

Dr. Faiz Askari: For readers who may be unfamiliar with Asset Vantage, how would you describe the company, its core offerings and the value it delivers to family offices and wealth managers?

Nicole Eberhardt: Asset Vantage is an AI-led wealthtech SaaS platform built by a family office, for family offices. Today, we support more than 400 families across more than 10 countries and help oversee more than USD 400 billion in assets.

The platform brings accounting, investment data, performance reporting, analytics and document management together. This gives families and their advisors—including Certified Public Accountants and Multi-Family Offices—a consolidated view across different entities, currencies, asset classes and geographies.

The value proposition is straightforward: we provide one trusted view of increasingly complex family wealth, enabling families and their advisors to make better-informed decisions.

Dr. Faiz Askari: As you take on the role of Global CEO, what are your immediate priorities? How do you envision leading Asset Vantage through its next phase of growth?

Nicole Eberhardt: My immediate priority is to build on the strong foundation Asset Vantage already has while preparing the business for its next phase of global growth.

Family offices are becoming more sophisticated, and their expectations of technology are changing rapidly. Our focus will be on continuing to invest in the platform, deepening our capabilities and expanding our presence—particularly in North America.

Having spent more than 25 years working across financial services and technology, I believe sustainable growth comes from staying close to clients, anticipating where their requirements are headed and maintaining the discipline needed to keep evolving.

Dr. Faiz Askari: Asset Vantage was incubated and supported by UNIDEL. How have UNIDEL’s technology expertise and long-term vision influenced the evolution of the platform?

Nicole Eberhardt: Asset Vantage has an unusual origin story. It was originally built to solve the real operational challenges faced by the UNIDEL founder’s own family office. The platform therefore began with a practitioner’s understanding of what managing complex family wealth actually requires.

UNIDEL’s engineering heritage added another important dimension—the discipline to build for integration and scale from the outset.

That combination of lived family-office experience and deep engineering expertise allowed Asset Vantage to evolve from an internal solution into a global wealthtech SaaS platform. It continues to influence the way we build and develop the platform today.

Dr. Faiz Askari: The wealth-management industry is undergoing rapid digital transformation. How is Asset Vantage adapting its technology strategy to meet the evolving requirements of family offices and wealth managers?

Nicole Eberhardt: Digital transformation in wealth management is entering a very different phase.

Over the course of my career in financial services and technology, I have seen the industry move from digitising manual processes to connecting systems and automating workflows. Artificial intelligence is now accelerating that transformation further. It is changing not only how family offices operate, but also how they interact with information and make decisions.

At Asset Vantage, our technology strategy reflects where we believe the industry is heading. We are expanding integrations and automating areas such as data aggregation and reconciliation. At the same time, we are increasingly applying AI to help families and their advisors make sense of information across complex portfolios, entities and asset classes.

However, the foundation must be trusted data. AI is only as valuable as the information beneath it.

Our focus is therefore not on adopting technology for technology’s sake. We want to use automation and AI to reduce operational complexity and help family offices move more efficiently from information to insight—and from insight to better-informed decisions.

Dr. Faiz Askari: Artificial intelligence is reshaping financial services globally. How is Asset Vantage integrating AI into its platform, and what impact do you expect these capabilities to have on clients?

Nicole Eberhardt: AI becomes valuable when it helps people understand information rather than simply generating more of it.

We are leveraging AI to help families and their advisors interact more intuitively with their financial data. These capabilities can help surface relevant insights across areas such as portfolio trends, investment performance, risk and liquidity.

For family offices, however, trust is fundamental. AI must work with accurate financial information, operate within strong security parameters and give clients control over their data.

If that foundation is established correctly, AI has the potential to significantly transform how quickly family offices can move from information to insight and, ultimately, to action.

Dr. Faiz Askari: India’s family-office ecosystem is expanding rapidly. How significant is the Indian market to Asset Vantage’s global strategy, and what opportunities do you see emerging in the region?

Nicole Eberhardt: India is our original home market and will remain a fundamental part of Asset Vantage’s global strategy.

The platform was born in India out of the real-world requirements of an Indian family office. That understanding of complex family wealth continues to shape how we build and evolve the platform today.

At the same time, India’s family-office ecosystem is changing rapidly. Portfolios increasingly span public and private markets, families are investing globally, and a new generation is becoming involved in the management of wealth. These developments are creating demand for more institutionalised approaches to reporting, governance and investment oversight.

As Indian family offices become increasingly sophisticated and global, we see a significant opportunity to grow alongside them.

Technology will increasingly become part of their core operating infrastructure rather than functioning merely as a reporting tool. For Asset Vantage, therefore, India is both our market of origin and a market of continued strategic importance—even as we expand our presence globally.

Dr. Faiz Askari: The global wealth-technology landscape is becoming increasingly competitive. What differentiates Asset Vantage from other platforms?

Nicole Eberhardt: One of our most important differentiators is the platform’s native ability to report portfolio holdings and investment analytics alongside financial accounting data.

Many wealthtech platforms begin with investment reporting and subsequently attempt to connect financial accounting around it. Asset Vantage, by contrast, was designed at its core to handle and report on both perspectives simultaneously.

This allows the general ledger and investment book to work together across multiple entities, currencies and asset classes. It provides the financial integrity and reconciliation that complex family wealth requires.

Technology alone, however, is not enough. Asset Vantage also brings the practical knowledge that comes from having been built by a family office, for family offices. We understand the complexities these teams face and how technology needs to work in practice—not merely on paper.

We combine this understanding with white-glove customer service. For me, the combination of deep technology, family-office expertise and high-touch service is what differentiates Asset Vantage as we scale globally.

Dr. Faiz Askari: Looking ahead, what is your long-term vision for Asset Vantage? Which strategic priorities will define the company’s growth over the next five years?

Nicole Eberhardt: My long-term vision is for Asset Vantage to continue setting the pace for innovation in family-office technology, grounded in a deep understanding of how family offices work and how their requirements are evolving.

As families become more global, portfolios become more complex and the next generation becomes increasingly involved, the technology supporting them must evolve just as quickly.

Over the next five years, our priorities will include continued product innovation, global expansion and the deeper application of AI.

Ultimately, our ambition is for Asset Vantage to become the financial operating system that families and their advisors rely on—bringing together the trusted data, insights and capabilities they need to navigate increasingly complex wealth with clarity and confidence.

SMEStreet Editorial Perspective

The family-office technology market is moving beyond conventional portfolio reporting. As wealthy families diversify across private equity, listed securities, real estate, alternative investments and international markets, they require unified financial infrastructure capable of connecting accounting records with investment intelligence.

Ms. Nicole Eberhardt’s observations underscore three developments likely to shape the next phase of the sector.

First, reliable and reconciled data will remain central to artificial-intelligence adoption. Without accurate underlying financial information, even sophisticated AI systems may struggle to generate dependable insights.

Second, family-office technology will increasingly serve as core operating infrastructure rather than a supplementary reporting tool. Platforms will be expected to support governance, liquidity monitoring, risk visibility, intergenerational participation and strategic decision-making.

Third, India is emerging as an important market for wealthtech innovation. The globalisation of Indian family wealth, expansion of private-market investments and increasing involvement of next-generation family members are creating demand for more structured and institutionalised wealth-management systems.

For Asset Vantage, the opportunity lies in combining its Indian origins and family-office experience with global expansion, advanced engineering and responsible AI adoption.
