Role Description
As Mixed Media & Tech Project Intern, you will play a pivotal role in the transformation of the UNIDEL Digital Archives (such as paintings, photos, and objects) into immersive storytelling experiences. This internship is designed for students, providing a unique opportunity to blend art and technology while contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
Responsibilities
Curation Procedure:
- Identify and curate key items from the UNIDEL Digital Archives with historical, cultural, or personal significance.
- Prioritize items based on their potential to engage audiences and evoke emotional connections.
Storytelling Conceptualization:
- Collaborate with historians, curators, and family members to gather insights and narratives behind the selected items.
- Develop compelling storylines that resonate with diverse audiences and encapsulate the essence of each item.
Technological Integration:
- Utilize cutting-edge technologies (AR, VR, 3D animation) to enhance the visual and interactive elements of the storytelling experience.
- Implement motion graphics, audio enhancements, and interactive elements to create an immersive journey for viewers.
User Experience Design:
- Ensure seamless navigation and accessibility across different devices and platforms.
- Incorporate user feedback loops to refine the storytelling experience and enhance user engagement.
Preservation and Sustainability:
- Implement archival standards to preserve the integrity and authenticity of the original items during the digitization process.
- Establish sustainable practices for the long-term maintenance and updates of the digital archives.
Eligibility
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program, with a focus on Art, Technology, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Students in their 1st to 3rd year of undergraduate studies are eligible.
- Strong creative and storytelling skills, with an interest in cultural heritage preservation.
- Basic understanding of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and 3D animation technologies.
- Proficiency in relevant design and multimedia software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with historians, curators, and family members.
- Eagerness to learn and apply cutting-edge technologies in a cultural context.
